Not another pregnancy textbook. This one checks in on you.
Pregnancy comes with a lot.
Appointments. Questions. Baby lists. Birth plans. Decisions. Things to buy, things to prepare, and somehow a mind that’s supposed to keep track of all of it.
But while everyone is preparing for baby, who’s checking in on Mom?
Doula Checks In is an interactive pregnancy, birth, and postpartum guide created by Full Spectrum Doula Brittany Scott- to give you a place to slow down, get organized, learn what to expect, prepare for birth, and—most importantly—check in with yourself along the way.
Inside, we’ll talk about:
● Building your birth team
● Creating a birth plan that reflects what matters to you
● Packing your birth bag
● Preparing for a home birth
● Understanding labor and the stages of birth
● Water breaking, mucus plugs, and those “Wait…is this normal?” moments
● Labor positions and comfort techniques
● Induction, vaginal birth, planned C-sections, and emergency C-sections
● How a doula can support different types of births
● Preparing for postpartum
● Perineal care and breastfeeding basics
● Pregnancy and postpartum self check-ins
● And plenty of space for your own notes, questions, and thoughts
This isn’t about memorizing everything there is to know about pregnancy.
It’s about giving you enough information to ask questions, understand your options, think about what you need, and feel a little more prepared for what’s ahead.
Write in it. Highlight it. Cross things out. Change your mind. Bring it to appointments. Add questions as they come to you.
Make it yours.
Because preparing for birth isn’t only about what baby needs.
Mom needs checking in on, too.
Come with your questions. Leave feeling more prepared.
This private, hands-on session is designed for expecting parents who want practical preparation for birth, bringing baby home, and those first days together.
We’ll cover what matters most to you and your partner — from preparing for labor and knowing what to expect, to newborn care and feeding.
You can ask questions, practice skills, and talk through the things you’ve been wondering about but haven’t known who to ask.
We can talk through anything from:
What to expect during labor
Comfort measures and partner support
When to contact your provider or head to the hospital
What happens immediately after birth
Diapering and newborn care
Bathing, swaddling and soothing
Feeding and breastfeeding support
Pumping and basic milk-storage questions
Newborn sleep expectations
What those first days at home can actually look like
